Founded in 2014 by John Farrell, a qualified forester with over a decade of experience in the wood fuel industry, Calido was born from a simple but powerful idea:

While kiln dried logs remain at the heart of our business, our offering has evolved with our customers. John's Story
After years working in the wood fuel sector, I (John) saw first-hand how poor-quality firewood was letting people down, logs that smoked, blackened stove glass, and clogged chimneys. I knew customers deserved better. With my background in forestry and a belief that quality fuel makes all the difference, I decided to do things differently, and Calido Logs & Stoves was born.
The name Calido (Latin for “hot”) reflects our commitment to reliable heat, quality products, and lasting customer relationships.
What began as a local firewood supplier has grown steadily through word of mouth and a loyal community who value the difference good wood makes. Today, we’re proud to be a trusted name in the UK firewood market - still rooted in kiln dried logs, and now also offering a handpicked range of stoves, wood-fired hot tubs and saunas, and outdoor heating products, to help our customers get more from every season.
2014
Calido Logs was founded with a vision of supplying quality firewood across the UK.
2016
Pizza ovens and stoves came on the scene, with our showroom opening at Bandeath Industrial Estate.
2017
Our range expanded to include household brands like Charnwood and Arada.
2018
Contura Stoves joined the party, offering a premium line to our customers.
2020
We survived Covid and expanded into garden machinery with Husqvarna as our flagship brand.
2025
The present day: a refined range of firewood, stoves and garden machinery, all handpicked by us.
