Founded in 2014 by John Farrell, a qualified forester with over a decade of experience in the wood fuel industry, Calido was born from a simple but powerful idea:

People deserve better firewood - wood that burns clean, heats efficiently, and is sourced responsibly.

And that’s exactly what we deliver.

Over time, as our customers’ needs have evolved, so has Calido. While kiln dried logs remain the heart of what we do, we’ve grown our range to include high-performance stoves, outdoor living essentials, and robust garden machinery - all handpicked for quality and reliability. John's Story

After years working in the wood fuel sector, I (John) saw first-hand how poor-quality firewood was letting people down, logs that smoked, blackened stove glass, and clogged chimneys. I knew customers deserved better. With my background in forestry and a belief that quality fuel makes all the difference, I decided to do things differently, and Calido Logs & Stoves was born.

The name Calido (Latin for “hot”) reflects our commitment to reliable heat, quality products, and lasting customer relationships.

What began as a local firewood supplier has grown steadily through word of mouth and a loyal community who value the difference good wood makes. Today, we’re proud to be a trusted name in the UK firewood market - still rooted in kiln dried logs, and now also offering a handpicked range of stoves, outdoor living products, and garden machinery to help our customers get more from every season.
