Wood Burning Stoves in Perth

A short drive south to a real showroom, and a stove fitted right.

Perth and rural Perthshire are stove country: characterful homes, cooler winters, and plenty of properties beyond the reach of mains gas where a wood burner earns its keep. Our showroom near Stirling is an easy run down the M9/A9, roughly 35 minutes from Perth, with 30+ stoves on display and several running live. As a family-run Scottish specialist we deliver locally, advise honestly on the right stove for your room, and arrange HETAS-approved installation. For a purchase like this, the short trip to see it lit is well worth making.

Why buy your stove from Calido

There is no shortage of places to buy a stove online. Very few of them are a real shop you can walk into, run by people who will still be here when your flue needs sweeping.

  • A showroom you can actually visit. Over 30 stoves are set up as they would look in your home, several running live, at our display just outside Stirling. Photos cannot tell you how a stove feels in a room. A visit can.
  • We know Perth homes. Many Perthshire homes are rural, off-grid for heating, and heat with wood, so whether you want traditional log burners in Perth or a flexible multi-fuel stove for a longer overnight burn, we will size and match it properly.
  • Honest advice, not a hard sell. We will tell you if a stove is wrong for your room, if your chimney needs work, or if you would be better off spending less. That is how a family business keeps customers for twenty years instead of twenty minutes.
  • Free home survey. Not sure what fits, or what your chimney can take? Book a free home survey and we will check your chimney and room. Perth is within comfortable reach for us to advise before you commit.

What will it cost in Perth?

A stove is two costs, not one: the stove itself and the installation (driven mostly by your chimney: lining an existing flue is cheaper than building a twin-wall system up through the roof).

Stoves themselves start from around £1,050 and most people spend £1,500 to £2,000 on the stove; installation is quoted on top after your survey.

We give a fixed, itemised quote after your free survey. No vague "from" pricing, no surprises on the day. For the full breakdown, see How much does a wood burning stove cost in Scotland → on our main stoves page.

Spread the cost with Novuna Personal Finance (PayByFinance), or Klarna, Clearpay or Shop Pay at checkout. See the finance options.

What size stove do I need?

As a rough guide, divide your room volume (m³) by 14 for the approximate kW you need. Most Scottish living rooms land around 4 to 6 kW, not the 8 to 12 kW people often reach for. Oversizing is the most common (and most expensive) mistake.

Installation and your free home survey

Perth sits within comfortable reach of our Central Scotland install area. Where we can fit directly, our HETAS-approved installers handle the whole job: survey, flue or liner, hearth, commissioning and your Building Standards certificate. Where a job is further out, we will advise fully and help you find a HETAS-registered installer nearby. Always insist on HETAS.

FAQ

Perth questions, answered

Can I see the stoves before I buy?

Yes, 30+ on display near Stirling, several running live. For Perth buyers it is well worth the trip before you commit to a big purchase.

Multi-fuel or wood-only, which should I choose?

Wood-only burns logs most cleanly; multi-fuel also burns approved smokeless fuels. With a good local log supply, wood-only Ecodesign suits most homes, and we will advise on your setup.

Are wood burning stoves banned in Scotland?

No. New Ecodesign stoves are legal across Scotland. In Smoke Control Areas you must use a DEFRA-exempt model (all ours qualify). New-build rules have changed recently, so ask us for the current position.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes, with Novuna Personal Finance (PayByFinance), or Klarna, Clearpay or Shop Pay at checkout.

Do you install stoves in Perth?

Perth is within reach of our Central Scotland install area. We will confirm direct coverage for your postcode at survey, or connect you with a HETAS fitter.

Is a wood burner a good idea for a rural Perthshire home?

Often, yes, especially off the gas grid. A multi-fuel model can also give a longer overnight burn. We will size it to your room and advise on fuel.
