Designed by celebrated Dutch designer Roderick Vos, the RB73 Fennek 80 is the larger sibling of the Fennek 50 and shares the same clever, modular design inspired by the fennec fox. With clean architectural sight lines and visible 3 mm CorTen steel plate construction throughout, the Fennek 80 is a robust and visually striking outdoor fireplace.
This model is available in two versions: a 3-sided glass layout with a heat-resistant concrete back wall or a fully glazed 4-sided version offering a panoramic view of the flames. The modular design means it shares the same legs and side panels as the Fennek 50, keeping the form refined and cohesive across the range.
The firebox is deep and made from refractory concrete, built for durability and high-temperature performance. The side panels hook firmly into place, yet can be released with ease when needed, and include air gaps to ensure airflow across the glass, helping to keep it clean during use. The integrated door handle is subtly built into the frame with a specially shaped latch that can be used to secure the door slightly ajar—ideal for kindling the fire more efficiently.
Functionally elegant, the Fennek 80 features a 20 cm flue stub designed so that the flue pipe fits over the top, ensuring rainwater cannot enter the stove. The flue system is compatible with a range of CorTen accessories, including 500 mm and 1000 mm extension pipes, as well as 45° or 90° elbows to adjust your installation as needed. A newly designed rain hood, created specifically to complement the Fennek's geometry, can be fitted with a spark catcher for added safety.
To complete the installation, a matching CorTen steel floor plate measuring 795 × 745 mm is available, offering protection for decking or stonework. For installations near walls or delicate structures, a heat shield back wall can also be added to protect surfaces from radiant heat.
The legs are finished with large, robust cap nuts and stainless steel adjustment bolts, ensuring the stove sits raised off the ground to prevent rust staining on patios or terraces. The RB73 Fennek 80 is a powerful and beautifully considered fireplace that brings warmth, style and function to any outdoor living space.
*The RB73 Quaruba range have a heat resistant stone in their base making them suitable for use on decking as there is very little downward heat transfer. While they are a closed appliance which makes them much safer than a firepit care should still be exercised when lighting or refuelling and a suitable heart plate (sold separately) should be used if deemed necessary.
