Now with the Dual Zone System

The Large Big Green Egg now comes as standard with the Dual Zone Essentials Kit, replacing the traditional ConvEGGtor and single Stainless Steel Grid setup and giving you even more flexibility from the outset.

The kit includes a Dual Zone Basket, two Half Moon Ceramic Deflectors and two Half Moon Stainless Steel Grids. The Basket acts as a frame, allowing the different cooking surfaces to be positioned across two levels inside your EGG.

The Half Moon Ceramic Deflectors perform the same essential role as the ConvEGGtor, creating the conditions needed for indirect cooking such as roasting and baking, but with improved ceramics and enhanced airflow.

Because the cooking surfaces are split into two halves, you can configure your EGG for direct cooking, indirect cooking or both at the same time. Sear steaks directly over the charcoal on one side while gently roasting vegetables over indirect heat on the other, giving you much greater control when preparing complete meals.

The Dual Zone System can also grow with the way you cook. Compatible surfaces including Cast Iron Searing Grids, a Half Moon Plancha Griddle, Carbon Steel Wok and 2-Piece Multi-Level Rack are available separately, opening up even more possibilities.

Its efficient ceramic construction helps lock in heat and moisture while making excellent use of charcoal. Big Green Egg states that a Large EGG can cook for up to 24 hours on a single batch of charcoal, making it equally suited to quick meals and long Low & Slow cooks.
