Made from Big Green Egg's premium-grade ceramics, the XL EGG provides exceptional heat retention while helping lock moisture and flavour into your food. Precise airflow control allows you to maintain steady Low & Slow temperatures or build intense heat for grilling and searing.

The XL is far more than a conventional barbecue. Grill, roast, smoke, bake, sear, slow cook, pan cook and more, preparing everything from burgers and steaks to whole joints, brisket, roast dinners, vegetables, fresh bread and large homemade pizzas.

Now with the Dual Zone System

The XL Big Green Egg now comes as standard with the Dual Zone Essentials Kit, replacing the traditional ConvEGGtor and single Stainless Steel Grid setup and unlocking even greater flexibility across its spacious cooking area.

The kit includes a Dual Zone Basket, two Half Moon Ceramic Deflectors and two Half Moon Stainless Steel Grids. The Basket sits inside the EGG and acts as a frame, allowing the different cooking surfaces to be positioned in different combinations and across two levels.

For indirect cooking, position both Ceramic Deflectors at the lower level with the Stainless Steel Grids above to create the ideal conditions for roasting, baking and Low & Slow cooking.

For direct grilling, leave the lower level open and cook on the Stainless Steel Grids directly above the charcoal.

Where the Dual Zone System really comes into its own is multi-mode cooking. Position a Ceramic Deflector beneath one half of the cooking area while leaving the other side exposed to direct heat, and you can create two distinct cooking zones inside the same EGG.

This means you could sear meat over intense direct heat on one side while roasting or gently cooking accompaniments on the other – making excellent use of the XL's generous cooking area and allowing complete meals to come together on one EGG.

The system can be expanded even further with compatible accessories available separately, including Half Moon Cast Iron Searing Grids, a Half Moon Plancha Griddle, Carbon Steel Wok and 2-Piece Multi-Level Rack. Add the Multi-Level Rack and you can cook or warm food at three different elevations, each offering a different intensity of heat.

Despite its generous proportions, the XL retains the fuel efficiency and precise control Big Green Egg is renowned for, making it equally at home cooking an everyday dinner or feeding a large gathering.
