Designed for those who want something a little different, the Onyx combines its distinctive new appearance with the versatility and premium ceramic construction Big Green Egg is renowned for – alongside new technology designed to make lighting, temperature control and multi-zone cooking even easier.

The Large Onyx is the same size and shape as the classic Large Big Green Egg, making it ideal for regularly cooking for four to six people. There's plenty of cooking space for family meals and entertaining, while remaining compact enough to work comfortably in most outdoor spaces.

Quick Light Kit

The Large Onyx is the first Big Green Egg to feature the innovative Quick Light Kit, designed to provide faster, cleaner ignition and improved heat distribution.

Rather than lighting your charcoal from above, the Quick Light Tool slides through the Draft Door and ignites the charcoal from underneath. A specially designed Stainless Steel Grate features large honeycomb-shaped openings to improve airflow, reduce hot spots and allow more ash to fall through for easier cleaning.

The Quick Light Kit also includes a box of Premium Natural Speedilight Sticks, giving you everything you need to get started.

Dual Zone Essentials Kit

Also included is the new Dual Zone Essentials Kit, providing the core components needed to unlock even more of your EGG's cooking potential.

The Dual Zone System allows you to configure different cooking zones inside your EGG, including the ability to cook with direct and indirect heat at the same time. Grill over the charcoal on one side while roasting more gently on the other, or configure the entire EGG for your preferred cooking method.

Eight Cooking Modes

From high-temperature grilling to all-day Low & Slow cooking, the Large Onyx is an incredibly versatile outdoor cooker.

Use your EGG to grill, roast, smoke, bake, cook Low & Slow, pan cook, dirty cook or add a Rotisserie, opening up everything from steaks and burgers to brisket, roast chicken, sourdough and stone-baked pizza.

Premium-grade ceramics lock in heat and moisture while Big Green Egg's airflow system provides precise control over the cooking temperature. The EGG can reach 300°C in approximately 20 minutes, while its excellent insulation also allows you to maintain stable lower temperatures for longer cooks.

And despite its distinctive darker appearance, there's no compromise on compatibility – all accessories designed for the classic Large Big Green Egg are also compatible with the Large Onyx.
